About 20 minutes into our... read more adventure we encountered and unexpected road closure. Our guide, Gerardo, gave us the option to return to the office for a full refund or take an alternate route. We decided to go with the alternate route and it was phenomenal. We rode far into the steep hills surrounding Playa Hermosa, paused to take pictures from gorgeous vistas, took a cooling dip in a crystal-clear waterfall pool, and had a delicious lunch on an outdoor patio of a remote little restaurant overlooking a lovely river. The roads were narrow, winding, dusty, bumpy and challenging -- just as you would expect for a backcountry tour. The trip was advertised as taking 4 hours, but we ended up riding for nearly 6 hours. Gerardo made absolutely certain that we were always safe and comfortable, and that we were having a fabulous time. Highly, highly recommend!

  We read the reviews before heading out with this outfit and the experience we had was NOTHING like what was described. We understood a ride on the beach to some... read more tide pools. What we got was a pretty terrifying ride up (and even worse - down) what seemed like 1000 plus foot altitude into the jungle. We were not at all prepared for it and did not feel like we had the experience nor instruction to do it.

In the end, we enjoyed the experience with our guide and the views, but they need to do a much better job of explaining what you are in for before you go.

They are an amazing staff that is willing to show you the best and safest ride you’ve ever had. This was truly the highlight of my trip! Eric is also very helpful in assisting with allocating other tours that might be of interest, so look no further. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who work there. I loved the views, I loved the ride, I loved the waterfall and river, I loved Dona Maria’s Cocina (the views were spectacular from there), and I loved the whole staff. This will be an absolute must do for me every time I visit Costa Rica from now on. If you are in Jaco, planning to pass through it, or if your close to it, please make this a must do, I guarantee you will love all of it! #PuraVida
